With the land survey in hand, we move into the design phase. The team at Davey McEathron Architecture mission is to achieve your vision while staying within budget — resulting in a home that suits your needs and lifestyle perfectly.
After submitting the design plans to the city to ensure it meets all the code and zoning requirements of your purchased lot, we receive our “building permit” which is the green light to us breaking ground on your lot.
Our team oversees every detail of construction and will provide timely updates to you each step of the way. Sit back, relax, enjoy the process.

What is the price per square foot?
There are many factors that play into what the price per square foot will be of your dream home. The price depends on the topography of your lot, the overall size of your home, the number of floors, interior and exterior features, level of interior finishes, etc. Once we nail down the general layout of your home, the level of finish you envision, and understand your budgetary goals, we will start working on obtaining bids and walk you through the budget process.
What does Design+Build mean?
Design+Build is a seamless process where a team works together in designing and constructing a home. We work intimately with architects on every home during the design phase and because of this, no two Urban ATX homes are alike. Each house is different and unique, offering a different visual and living experience.
What areas do you build?
We’ve primarily been building in the Central Austin area which includes downtown, Clarksville, Tarrytown, Travis Heights, Bouldin Creek, Zilker, and Barton Hills.
What are the finance options?
A construction loan is typically required for custom builds. We have several lenders that we have established relationships with and can assist you through the process.
When can we move in? How long does the build take?
The Design+Build process typically takes 12-15 months but that varies. Construction can’t start building until they obtain finalized, city-approved plans from the architect. The time it takes to finalize your dream home plans with the architect is dependent on how long it takes you and the architect to get through the design phase. This can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months, the client drives the timing of this process.
Do I need to hire an architect and interior designer?
No, we partner with Davey McEathron Architecture as part of our Design+Build process, who will also provide architecture and interior design services which ensures a seamless design of the home from the inside out.
